Uganda, Africa fertile for spiritual growth – President

Pastor Reinhard Bonnke meets H.E the President and First LadyThe First Lady and Minister for Karamoja Affairs prayed for the country, calling for more people to know God and be saved from perishing from the lack of knowledge.

President Yoweri Museveni has hailed the world’s renowned evangelist Reinhard Bonnke and all the clergy in the country for their efforts in providing spiritual support and growth to the people saying that the human being is made up of the fresh, mind and spirit where it becomes difficult to deal with the fresh when the spirit is weak.

‘’I salute you and all the local pastors for the spiritual struggles of our people ‘’he said.

The President made the remarks last evening during a courtesy call by Rev. Bonnke and his delegation who called on him at State House, Nakasero.

President Museveni urged religious leaders to preach the gospel saying that Uganda and Africa in general is now fertile for spiritual growth adding that this is the right time for the word of God to reach out to the world.

He welcomed Rev. Bonnke and his team saying Uganda is their country and they should feel at home whenever they are around.

The First Lady and Minister for Karamoja Affairs prayed for the country, calling for more people to know God and be saved from perishing from the lack of knowledge.

Rev. Bonnke saluted the President and the First Lady for the warm reception accorded to him and his entire team and being a good example to others. He prayed to God to bless them, their family and the entire country. He commended the Ugandan clergy for the good work they are doing, adding that they are respected worldwide.

Mr. Reinhard Bonnke is in the country to attend the Uganda Jubilee Gospel Crusade organized by the Evangelical and all the Pentecostal  Churches in Uganda which is slated for today 6th-10th June 2012. This is the third time Rev. Bonnke is coming to Uganda the first being 1989 and 1990 in Jinja.

Apostle Alex Mitala who was the head of delegation appreciated the good gesture exhibited by the President and the First Lady for accepting to come and share with them the word of God. He said the crusade was intended to be held at the time when Uganda is celebrating 50 years since independence as their contribution to Uganda’s Jubilee celebrations. He urged church leaders to concentrate on the preaching of the gospel instead of doing what he said does not build the Church and the Kingdom of God.
