President Yoweri Museveni has commended the young people in Uganda who embrace the institution of marriage at a young age that they are playing a noble role of continuing human life through producing children.“Heaven is having children because children are part of eternity as they are the ones through whom life continues. Parents who form one group go away to heaven but they leave behind their children who have to step into the role of the perpetuation of the human race. I am here because of my great grand-parents and I praise God because of that eternity that we can see here.”
President Museveni was addressing guests who were at the wedding reception of Mr. Inga Kuteesa who wedded Ms. Cristobel Katembwe yesterday at Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala. The bridegroom is son of Hon. Sam Kuteesa, MP Mawogola Constituency while the bride is the daughter of Mr. Abel Katembwe former Managing Director of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF).
The President expressed happiness to see that children in Uganda are getting married which, he noted, would go a long way in strengthening the population of Uganda.
“The National Resistance Movement has brought good luck to Uganda because the national population has exploded from 14 million in 1986 to 34 million today. That means 20 million are NRM people. That is how a country gets strong”, Mr. Museveni said.
The President pledged some cows to the newlywed couple and congratulated their respective families for the great occasion of their children’s matrimonial ceremony. He wished good luck to the young couple.
