President Museveni commissions Mpigi health centre

President Yoweri Museveni has commissioned Mpigi health centre IV, directing that the centre be upgraded to a referral hospital.

The President, while inspecting the new maternity ward at Mpigi Health Centre IV with district and health administrators, told residents that handling hygiene, nutrition, immunisation and behaviour change would reduce the disease burden.

He thus appealed to leaders to sensitize youth that everything has it's time citing a case of the pregnant 16 year-old orphan who was at the event.

He also cautioned against leading children into satanic ways saying, the age of sexual consent was 18 years and that there was a time for everything.

He hailed the Chinese for supporting rehabilitation of the health centre following the 50 inch TV donation.

The 65.2km long road is expected to improve access to districts of Ssembabule, Butambala, Gomba and Kampala.

The President then laid a foundation stone for St. Luke Church of Uganda in Mbaale.

Also present at the occasion were; the Minister of Health, Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, the minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, Amelia Kyambadde, pastors Namutebi and Robert Kayanja who donated an ambulance to the health centre.
