President commends EU-Uganda solidarity

President Yoweri Museveni commended the European Union (EU) for their solidarity with the people of Uganda and observed that the partnership has helped Uganda to recover economically. He expressed appreciation for the assistance that Uganda has been receiving from Europe but stressed that it should be more focussed on the improvement of the economy.

The President, who is attending the World Economic Forum in Durban, South Africa, made the call  as he witnessed the signing of Memoranda of Understanding between two German companies and the Uganda government on the sidelines of the forum.

He also urged them to keep accounts properly as one of the ways to ensure that Uganda registers further growth. “Keep accounts properly, fight corruption then your country will grow. He was this morning addressing the joint oil and gas convention and regional expo at the Kampala Serena Hotel. The President of Equatorial Guinea, Mr. Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, also addressed the convention before he concluded his 2-day state visit to Uganda.
