President receives Kenya’s Mwai Kibaki

President Yoweri Museveni received at State House, Nakasero, the visiting Kenyan President Mr. Mwai Kibaki.

President Kibaki was in Uganda to receive an honorary Doctorate of Laws of Makerere University.

President Museveni welcomed the Kenyan leader to Uganda and discussed with his guest issues related to education, investment as well as development issues in general. The two leaders also discussed bilateral matters concerning the two countries and the East African region as a whole.

President Museveni told his guest that Kenyans in particular and East Africans generally are warmly welcome to invest in Uganda saying that the investment opportunities are available for them to tap into the Ugandan economy especially the fruit processing sector.

The meeting was attended by the 1st Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Affairs, Mr. Eriya Kategaya.

President MwaiKibaki was accompanied by the Kenyan Minister for East African Community Affairs, Mr. Musa Sirma and the Deputy Minister for Higher Education, Ms.
