President receives Serb veterinary investors

President YoweriMuseveni received entrepreneurs from Serbia with whom he discussed economic development opportunities in Uganda.

The Serbian delegation was led by the General Director of Victoria Group of VeterinarskiZavod Subotica, Ms. NatasaPaviceviaBajic.

During the meeting that took place at State House, Nakasero, the President welcomed them to Uganda and encouraged them to take advantage of the immense indigenous knowledge accumulated in the country in order to venture into production of new products for the international market. He said some of the indigenous knowledge on drugs in Uganda that have not been well captured by scientists, should be utilized for purposes of new developments.

The President informed the Serb visitors that they are in Uganda at the right time adding the strengthening of the manufacture of veterinary drugs in the country will certainly go a long way in boosting the development of other related smaller sectors of the national economy.

The leader of the Serb team revealed that they will undertake the construction of a factory for production of veterinary drugs in Uganda because the country commands a big potential and market for their products. She disclosed that their focus will be on Uganda’s economic development through production of antibiotics and vaccines, among others to ensure good health for animals.
