Former South African President, Mr. Thabo Mbeki, arrived in Uganda on a private visit during which he is expected to attend a workshop on African politics to be held at Makerere University in Kampala on 19th January 2012.
The Workshop is the brainchild of Makerere University Institute of Social Research (MISR).
The workshop is organized under the theme, “The Architecture of Post-Cold War Africa: Between Internal Reform and External Intervention.”
President Mbeki is expected to deliver a key-note address in the morning and later in the evening at 6.00 pm, he will hold a public question and answer session under the theme “Africa and the World: Intervention and Reform.”
The former South African President, who arrived aboard a South African Airways flight, was received at Entebbe international Airport by South African envoy to Uganda Mr. D.J. Quelane and Uganda Foreign Affairs Ministry official.
