President meets M23 delegation over talks

President Yoweri Museveni has today met and held discussions with the M23 delegation from the Democratic Republic of Congo led by Francois Rucogoza at his country home in Rakitura, Kiruhura district.

The M23 delegation is currently involved in peace talks with the Congolese government in Kampala aimed at among other things reviewing the Comprehensive Peace Agreement of 23 March 2009, security issues, and social issues, political and economic as well as mechanisms for implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Kampala Accord.

During the meeting, which was also attended by the Minister of Defense Dr. Crispus Kiyonga, the president was briefed about the progress of the ongoing peace talks.
