President Yoweri Museveni has returned from a 3 day working visit to Israel.The President who was accompanied by his wife Mrs. Janet Museveni was seen off at Ben Gurion Airport Tel- Aviv in Israel by Ambassador Omar Lubulwa.President Museveni and Mrs. Janet Museveni were received on arrival at Entebbe International Airport by the Head of the Public Service Mr. John Mitala and the Mayor of Entebbe Municipality Mr. Steven Kabuye.Others at the Airport to welcome home the President and his wife Mrs. Janet Museveni included senior security officials.During his visit in Israel, President Yoweri Museveni attended the Israeli Presidential Conference 2008 called by the President of Israel Shimon Peres. Several world leaders including President George Bush of the United States of America attended the summit whose theme was “Facing tomorrow”.The President also met and held talks with Mr. Benzion Netanyahu senior, who lost his son Yoni Netanyahu during the Israeli attack at Entebbe Old Airport in 1976.
Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu commended President Museveni and the government for the tremendous political and economic achievements Uganda has attained under his leadership.
President Yoweri Museveni and his wife Mrs. Janet Museveni during his visit attended a special event marking 60 years of the founding of Israel as a state.
