President returns from Addis Ababa

President Yoweri Museveni has this afternoon returned home from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia where he joined other African Union (AU) Heads of State and Government of member countries for the 14th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the Continental organisation. The 3-day Summit that ended today was held under the theme “Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Africa: Challenges and Prospects for Development”. 
President Bingu wa Mutharika of Malawi is the new AU Chairperson for the next one year. He takes over from the Libyan leader, Col. Moammer el Gadhaffi who has held the Chairmanship of the continental organization for the past one year. The President was received on arrival at Entebbe International Airport this afternoon by Vice-President Professor Gilbert Bukenya, the Deputy Commissioner General of Prisons Mr. James Mwanje, the Head of Public Service Mr. John Mitala and the Mayor of Entebbe Mr. Steven Kabuye.

The President was accompanied to Addis Ababa by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Sam Kutesa, that of ICT Mr. Aggrey Awori, of State for Finance Mr. Fred Jachan Omach, MPs Beatrice Byenkya and Moses Kabusu.
