H.E President Museveni received an International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation on the 14th of May 2013 at State House Entebbe. They discussed financial administration and tax collection. The delegation were very impressed by the President's command of Portuguese, a language close to Spanish, said they benefitted from his in-depth analysis of the African economy and commended his leadership for Uganda's quick recovery inspire of slower growth about six months ago.

First Lady and the Minister for Karamoja Affairs Hon. Janet Museveni has met and held talks with a delegation of Human Rights Activists from Robert. F. Kennedy (RFK) Centre for Justice and Human Rights for minority groups. In a meeting that took place at State House Entebbe on Wednesday, the First Lady and the delegation discussed a range of issues including the current bill under discussion and issues of homosexuality and other minority groups in the country.

President Museveni who is due to commission the new Buhweju tea factory has hailed the farmers in the district for promoting tea growing and urged leaders to sensitive them on diversification into rearing dairy cows to boost household incomes. He was impressed to learn that the farmers in the area earn a gross income of Shs 9 million per annum per acre from the cultivation of tea.
