President Yoweri Museveni flags off the Uganda Cranes, yesterday at Entebbe Airbase. The Cranes have a friendly with Botswana on Friday, then camp in Turkey before they take on Senegal in Morocco on the 7th of September this year. State House has chartered a plane at a cost of Ugshs 559,000,000 to fly 150 Ugandans to Senegal and return the same day after the match. The morale boosters will sure cheer our Cranes. The President, a former footballer, has handed over a cheque of Ugshs 384,000,000 to the Cranes as Government support to the team, to take care of Training, Tickets, Allowances and Accomodation. He has also instructed staff to find a way of supporting the team members with a monthly allowance to enable the team earn a living and concentrate on training and planning to win matches.
