President Museveni, First Lady Janet in Guinea for African Union Assembly

President Yoweri Museveni and First Lady Janet Museveni are in Malabo Equatorial Guinea for the 23rd Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union.

President Museveni will chair the open session of the African Union Peace and Security Council to commemorate its 10th Anniversary.

The President and First Lady were received at Malabo International Airport at 7.30 am local time by Equatorial Guinea's Prime Minister Vincente Ehatu, Uganda's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sam Kutesa, Representative to the African Union Ambassador Mull Katende and other government officials.

President Museveni and First Lady will this afternoon participate in the Summit of African Heads of State and Government on Climate Change (CAHOSC), chaired by President Jakaya Kikwete of Tanzania.

President Museveni will, thereafter, chair the open session of the Peace and Security Council (PSC) at the level of Heads of State and Government, to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the PSC.

He will also participate in a meeting of Heads of State and Government of the countries contributing resources to the African Capacity for Immediate Response to Crises (ACIRC).
