President Museveni in Luanda, Angola for ICGLR Summit

President Yoweri Museveni is currently in Luanda, the capital of Angola to attend the Heads of State Summit of the member countries of the International Conference of the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR).

The President was on arrival this morning, received at Feveretro International Airport by Angola's Minister for Petroleum, Mr. Jose Marie Botelho de Vasconcelos, and other senior Angola Government officials.

He held discussions moments after arrival with Angola's President, Jose Eduardo Dos Santos, ahead of the Summit.

President Museveni was earlier seen off at Entebbe International Airport by the Head of Public Service, Mr. John Mitala, the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Katumba Wamala, the Inspector General of Police, Gen. Kale Kayihura and Assistant Commissioner of Prisons, Mr. Akena.

Member countries of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region include Angola, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Rwanda, Burundi, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo (Brazzaville), Kenya, Sudan, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.
