The State House Comptroller, Mrs. Lucy Nakyobe Mbonye, has called on State House Secretaries to maintain discipline, integrity and the right attitude in order to succeed in their work.

She made the call at the Uganda Management Institute (UMI) in Kampala during the closing ceremony of a 4-day course for State House Secretaries over the weekend. The course, which hinged mainly on the changing role of Secretaries, attracted Secretaries of all ranks.

“We the Secretaries should become administrators in the offices where we are. You need to help your bosses to coordinate the activities in their offices,” she emphasized.

She reminded them that it was vital to have good judgment as they perform their roles on a day-today-basis. Mrs. Nakyobe also observed that a Secretary in State House was unique when compared to counterparts in other departments because of the institution being a political office. She noted that this fact makes it the most challenging institution as one who is employed there meets people of all shades and character while serving.

She was pleased to note that the participants had learnt to manage stress. She stressed to them the vital role of team work and customer care adding that what matters today was how one can manage the office. She urged them to be dedicated while doing their work and congratulated them for completing their course successfully.

Mrs. Nakyobe Mbonye presented certificates to participants who passed their exams.
